from THE DURHAM HERALD SUN

"PRATT works in a precise drawing style, much like an architect does. Many of his compositions are combinations of several canvases seamlessly matched.

'My work is organic,' he told me. 'I begin and the composition grows and needs more space and so I add another canvas.'

TREES AND POSTS II: SLOAN'S PICNIC covers four canvases and is an example. Between two abstracted black and white trees is a wide, slender red line, a post, he calls it. A triangular design of greens hovers near the right hand tree; all is realized against a background of pure white. Like this painting, all his work is flat, meticulous, pristine and realistically abstract. The compositions are quiet with dashes of color."
